Homemade Croutons.

 COOK TIME  15 Min
 READY IN  20 Min 
 SERVES  4 - 6



  • Day or two day old French bread
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (For a garlic flavour replace the salt with garlic salt or rub the bread with a fresh, peeled, clove of garlic)

    (For extra zing you could add 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or 1/8 teaspoon of chilli powder to stage 3)


  1. Preheat oven to 400 F / 200 C / Gas mark 6.
  2. Cut bread into cubes and place in a large bowl.
  3. Drizzle cubes with olive oil, salt and pepper and mix well together.
  4. Spread seasoned bread onto a sheet pan and bake for about 15 minutes.

    Serve with soups or salads.
