Vertex Standard / Yaesu Microphone Pin Outs.
For: FT-10, FT-40, FT-50R (1990s), FT-60,
VX-1, VX-2, VX-3, VX-5, VX-6, VX-10, VX-14,
VX-110, VX-120, VX-127, VX-130, VX-131, VX-132,
VX-150, VX-170, VX-177, VX-210.

PTT is achieved by grounding the Mic Audio line (3) via a 2K to 30K resistor.

NOTE: There are 3 types of this plug used by Yaesu on the various models:

  1. With a screw thread to lock it to the radio.
  2. A plug with a thumbscrew strain relief.
  3. Just a "normal" plug.
The "normal" plug will fit the socket with the strain relief.
I have been told that a "normal" plug will fit in the screwed type socket if the body of the plug is small enough to fit in the recess, otherwise the pinout is the same.
The screw type will not fit the non screwed sockets.
See below for a list of the type used for which radio.

Supplied by Duane Hall, AB8QU.

The list below may include radios not listed above, conversly radios listed above may not be on this list. This is because I list pin outs that I have checked on the schematic or user manual, it's not there because I can't check it! and Duane may not have had access to all the radios to check. The pin out for all is reputed to be the same. Plain:

FT-10R, FT-40R, FT-50R, FT-60R, VA-110, VX-1, VX-2, VX-5, VX-1R, VX-2R, VX-5R, VX-5RS, VX-10, VX-131, VX-132, VX-150, VX-300, VXF-1, VXF-10, VXF-20.

Threaded:

VX-6R, VX-7R, VX-7RB, VX-7RS, VX-120, VX-170, VX-177.
(HX series by Standard) HX-370S, HX-470S, HX-471S, HX-500S, HX-600S, HX-350S, HX-460S.

Many thanks for that Duane, it's much appreciated.
