PTT is achieved by grounding the Mic Audio line (3) via a 2K to 30K resistor.
NOTE: There are 3 types of this plug used by Yaesu on the various models:

This is because I list pin outs that I have checked on the schematic or user manual, it's not there because I can't check it! and Duane may not have had access to all the radios to check. The pin out for all is reputed to be the same.
